The Ministry of Health and Wellness on Saturday rolled out it’s mobile vaccination unit for the first time and has indicated that based on the turnout, the exercise was a success.
Health Minister, Christopher Tufton said during the test run the first stop was in Fontana, Waterloo, St Andrew.
Health officials said during the stop, health officials were able to administer Astra Zeneca, Johnson & Johnson, and the second dose of the Pfizer to a number of Jamaicans.
“The first rollout of the mobile vaccination bus has been a success! Happy to see persons coming out for their first and second doses all in an effort to protect themselves and others,” said Tufton.
And Jamaicans who heard about the development welcomed the move.
“Very nice. Hoping we’ll see it rolling into the deep rural communities with appropriate personnel to Educate and Vaccinate. #VaccinateJa ,” said one social media user.
