hat rusty set of wheels gathering dust in the hallway? It’ll probably need a bit of TLC before the big office return in a couple of weeks.
Getting your bike to a repair shop (and finding a timeslot) can be tricky when you’re working full-time, but – thankfully – a new wave of repair services are offering an even handier way to get your road bike up to scratch for the return to the commute: collecting and returning it straight to your door.
The capital’s leading mobile bike repair service havebike is currently crowdfunding to expand across the UK, Swedish competitor Mioo has just launched in south west London, and longtime Londoner NipNip is now offering free bike repairs for all NHS staff for the rest of 2021.
From the app that collects and services anywhere within the M25 to the mechanics who teach you as you go, these are the capital’s top mobile bike repairers for getting back-to-work ready.
USP: A decade of experience, from servicing police bikes to fixing Santander Cycles
Collection, servicing and delivery across London (and soon to be across the UK, thanks to a new round of public investment). Founded by ex-finance lawyer Nick Brown in 2010 due to the lack of bike shops in the City, havebike has grown to become London’s leading mobile repair service, now trusted to service bikes for the police, ambulance and fire services as well as hire fleets including Santander Cycles and Mobike.
All team members are fully trained and services range from a £29.99 Fix Me Fit Me option that includes puncture repairs and a 104-point safety check, to a same-day workplace service bringing mechanics into your building.
If you fancy a regular, deluxe or super-deluxe service, havebike offers a 48-72 hour turnaround. A mechanic will collect your bike from your door, explain what needs doing and return it a few days later complete with all the necessary upgrades and repairs.
And arrangements are just as slick as the servicing itself: just book a convenient timeslot online and one of havebike’s eco-friendly vans will come to your home and take your bike away to one of its workshops. Don’t worry about not being at home for the return: havebike’s team will keep your shiny new wheels at its workshop until you’re ready and return it on your chosen date to your chosen address – just select your work address if you’re planning to be in the office that day.
Daily collections available from anywhere within the M25, seven days a week, and you can select a morning or afternoon timeslot between 9am and 6pm.
USP: Free bike repairs for all NHS staff throughout 2021
NipNip offers bicycle repairs at your home or work place provided you have a suitable private area for them to pitch up their trailer. They operate across central, south and east London and also have a collection service for silver and gold services.
NipNip also offers corporate maintenance days where a mechanic comes to your place of work to service all the bikes of your employees.
USP: Free collection and return from anywhere within the M25
With its striking orange van, Voncrank comes straight to your door to service or collect and return your bicycle. It offers a range of individual repairs and complete services from a service tailored to your needs as a commuter to a simple puncture repair from £18.

Rob’s Bikes offers a mobile call-out service, where a mechanic will come and attend to repairs or complete a full maintenance check wherever you are – at home, work or stuck at the side of the road. Mobile repairs cover central and east London.
USP: You can subscribe for unlimited bike servicing and repairs
The Swedish bike repair app is launching in the UK and making at-home bike services easier than ever. You simply book a time and location through the app and a Mioo Bike Buddy will come to service or repair your bike wherever you are.
The Mioo team delayed their UK launch to offer free and reduced-price servicing to NHS staff and are now starting their mobile service in south west London.
